Deciding for Ourselves
We create our experiences and therefore have the power to change them along the way. Regardless of what has happened to us in the past or what is happening to us in the present or even what will happen to us in the future, it is all of our own creation. Even more so, all of our experiences are good for us! Even the ones we think are horrible. The reason for this is simple: it is from these experiences that we come to grow and understand ourselves better on the path to becoming the greatest version of Who We Are (Friendship with God, Walsch).
Like the manipulation of time, the fact that we create all of our own life experience holds true as well. As we discussed earlier, the entire purpose of living in the physical world is to really discover Who We Are deep inside. As we evolve on our spiritual path, we call to ourselves situations and people (experiences) in the physical world that will be show us who we are. The way we do this is quite often by challenging ourselves to grow past the illusions of the situation. What we are looking for are things like how compassionate we are, how strong we are, how sensitive we are, how powerful we are, the things that make us happy and the things that we view as negative to our own selves just to name a few. Challenges offer us the opportunity to see where we perceive ourselves as being forced to react to different experiences on a subconscious level. And it’s the way we choose to react that shows us the person we are deep down.
